Industrial Dampers

Process & High-Temperature Applications

IPT Engineering supplies industrial dampers for the control and isolation of air, gas and process flows in demanding industrial environments.

Our damper solutions cover applications ranging from conventional process-air control through to high-temperature and heavy-duty duties where standard commercial dampers are unsuitable.

Applications

Industrial dampers can be used throughout a wide range of plant and processes, including:

  • Energy from waste
  • Power generation
  • Cement and minerals
  • Gasification
  • Combustion systems
  • Industrial furnaces
  • Process air systems
  • Flue gas and exhaust systems
  • Bulk material processing

Damper Types

Depending on the application, we can source and supply different industrial damper configurations, including:

Single and Multi-Blade Dampers
For regulating or isolating air and gas flows in industrial ductwork and process systems.

High-Temperature Dampers
Designed for applications where operating temperatures exceed the capabilities of standard industrial equipment.

Heavy-Duty Process Dampers
For demanding continuous-duty applications where robust construction and reliable operation are essential.

Triple-Offset Dampers
For applications requiring tight shut-off and dependable isolation under demanding operating conditions.

Dampers can be supplied with manual, pneumatic or electric actuation, depending on the requirements of the installation.

Replacement Dampers & Existing Plant

Replacing a damper on existing equipment can be more complicated than specifying one for a new installation.

Dimensions, operating temperature, pressure, materials, flange arrangements, shaft configuration and actuation all need to be considered. In many cases the original equipment may also be obsolete or no longer readily available.

IPT can work from existing drawings, photographs, nameplates, dimensions or manufacturer information to help identify a suitable replacement.

We can also assist with individual components and spares where replacing the complete damper is unnecessary.

Technical Information

When enquiring about an industrial damper, useful information includes:

  • Damper size
  • Duct or flange dimensions
  • Operating temperature
  • Operating pressure
  • Medium being handled
  • Required flow or duty
  • Material requirements
  • Operating frequency
  • Actuation requirements
  • Existing manufacturer and model
  • Photographs or drawings

If you do not have all of this information, contact us with whatever details are available.
